Service held for Tommy Griffin

Funeral services for Tommy Ralph Griffin, a longtime Coalgate resident, were held Friday, August 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Pastor Lyle Shipley officiating. Burial was in Moore Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Tommy was born November 5, 1962 to Tommy and Janice Marie (Ridley) Griffin in Coalgate, OK and passed away August 22, 2018 at his home in Coalgate, OK at the age of 55 years, 9 months and 17 days. He attended and graduated from Coppell High School and served for 26 years and retired from the Farmers Branch, TX fire department. After retirement he served the Coalgate Fire Department for the past 14 years. He was also a ranch manager. Tommy was a member of the International Firefighters Association, Oklahoma Firefighters Association, NASAR, Coal County Task Force and the Oklahoma Disaster Task Force.

Survivors include his sons, Dustin Griffin, Cary Griffin, both of Carroll-ton, TX, Jared Griffin and wife Jennifer of Coalgate, OK and Tyler Griffin and wife Meagan of Ada, OK; mother, Janice Griffin of Coalgate; grandchildren, Abigail Griffin, Emily Griffin, both of Carrollton, TX; Jaudaea Griffin of Ada, Jett Griffin and Dallas Krebs, both of Coalgate, Kiersyn, Kabie and Kade Powell all of Coalgate; brother, Troy Griffin and wife Kati of Rogers, AR; grandmother, Zelda Ridley of Coalgate; step-children, Wade Powell, Tiffany Krebs and husband, Joseph and J. D. Wright, along with nieces, nephews and many dear and loved friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Wayne Griffin; son, Rowdy Griffin and grandfather, Ralph Ridley.

Casketbearers were Tyler Griffin, Jared Griffin, Dustin Griffin, Cary Griffin, Troy Griffin and Joseph Krebs. Honorary bearers were Farmers Branch, TX Fire Department and Coalgate Fire Department.
