Service held for Weldon Leon Rose

Funeral services for Weldon Leon Rose, a Lehigh resident, were held Monday, March 9, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Pastor Joey Lansdale officiating. Burial was in Lehigh Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Rose was born December 19, 1944 to J. B. and Hattie Ola (Cox) Rose at Blanchard, OK and passed away March 2, 2020 at City at the age of 75 years, 2 months and 12 days. He attended and graduated from Tuttle High School in 1963. Leon proudly served his country in the U. S. Army and married Monnie Carol Nanney on October 15, 2004 in Las Vegas, NV. He was a retired construction superintendent. Leon enjoyed farming, gardening, reading and watching westerns. He was a Big OU fan. Leon loved tinkering with tractors and other equipment. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Monnie Carol Rose of Lehigh, OK; children, Renae Kelley and husband Donald Jr. of Ponder, TX, Shelly Snyder and husband David of OKC, Sonya Parsons and husband Donald of Altus, OK; granddaughters, Karlie Parsons, Brooklynn Kelley; grandsons, Bryton Kelley, Dylan Snyder, Ethan Parsons, Kade Parsons, Andrew Lechuga; great-granddaughter, London Kelley; great-grandson, Eli-jah Kelley; siblings, Joyce Sanders, Vivian Poole, both of Moore, OK, Linda Whitaker and husband, Dale of Blanchard, OK, Virgie Hamilton of OKC, Dar-of Fountain Valley, CA, Kenneth Rose of Bridge Creek, OK, Geleta Hickman of Newcastle, OK, Loreta Rose of Hinton, OK, Bob Whitaker of Norman, OK; aunt, Doretha Meeker of Stockton, CA; along with numerous nieces, nephews and dearly loved friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Geraldine Whitaker.

Casketbearers were Bryton Kelley, Dylan Snyder, Ethan Parsons, Kade Parsons, Andrew Lechuga and Shay Nanney.
