Service held for William Leon Kelly

Graveside services for William Leon Kelly, a longtime Atoka, OK resident, formerly lived in Western Oklahoma as a young person, were held Sunday, April 5, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Kelly Family Cemetery in Atoka, OK with Joey Lansdale officiating. Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kelly was born July 7, 1937 to William and Armelda (Duke) Kelly at Elk City, OK and passed away March 31, 2020 at his home in Atoka at the age of 82 years 8 months and 24 days. He attended school and married Ellen Jalene Stacy at Elk City, OK. She preceded him in death. He later married Norma Gayle (Gossett) Allen May 22, 1970 at Atoka, OK. Leon was a farmer and rancher and also worked for Atoka County District 2 as a grader operator. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing and hunting, “coon hunting”, and raising and taking care of his cattle.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Gayle Kelly of the home in Atoka; sons, Kennith Kelly and wife LaDel of Guymon, OK, Garry Kelly and wife Dolly of Lane, OK; daughter, Deanna Gossett of Tushka, OK; grandson, Brandon Kel

ly of Guymon, OK; great-granchildren, Traevyn Kelly and Bryce Kelly; brother, Waymon Kelly of Frederick, OK; brother-in-law, E. A. Gossett of Coalgate, OK; sister-in-law, June Gossett of Coalgate, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; mother of his children, Ellen Jalene Messer and grandson, Tommy Kelly.

Casketbearers were Gary Gregory, Kennith Kelly, Brandon Kelly, Roger Cannon and Justin Cannon.
