Service Saturday for Louis Richard Coleman

Louis Richard Coleman, 85 years old, passed away peacefully surrounded by love on February 28, 2022.

He was born May 8, 1936 in El Dorado, Arkansas to Louis Lendon and Zulah (Lawrence) Coleman. He graduated from North Texas State University with a degree in chemistry.

In 1958, he began working for Texas Instruments and, on June 27, 1959, he married Mildred Annette Stout in Denton, Texas. They remained married until her death. They had two children, Richard Lynn Coleman and Kathleen Crabtree Eads.

In 2006, Louis moved to Coalgate, Oklahoma, and married Patricia Shores, who had also lost her spouse. She brought much laughter, fun and good eating to his life.

In this new chapter of life, Louis and Pat forged a new blended family by bringing all the kids, grandkids, siblings and in-laws from their first marriages into a bigger circle of love. Louis found his true calling being “Pops” to this large family. They were members of

They were members of the Cornerstone Praise and Worship Center in Coalgate, Oklahoma.

He is survived by his wife, Pat; his son Rick of Coalgate; daughter Kathy and husband Wilbert “Skip” Eads of Plano, Texas; two grandchildren, Brandon Wallace Crabtree and Lauren Kathleen Crabtree FinCannon, her husband Evan and great-grandson Anden FinCannon, all of Plano, Texas.

H i s brothers, Dr. William Edward Coleman of Liberty Hill, Texas, and Hugh Coleman of Lewisville, Texas, and sister Zulynne Coleman Leverett and husband Howard of Henderson, Texas, also survive.

Others who will certainly miss him include his stepchildren, Shonda Pebworth and husband Kenny of Coalgate, Anita Shores of Coalgate and Sandra Manuel and husband Brent of Ada, plus seven step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandsons along with numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends including Angie Truitt of Coalgate.

In addition to his first wife, Annette, he is preceded in death by his parents Louis Lendon and Zulah Lawrence Coleman.

Services will be held on March 12, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Cornerstone Praise and Worship Center in Coalgate. Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate.
