Service Thursday for Alice Vick

Graveside services for Alice Lodell Vick, a longtime Olney resident, will be held Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Moore Cemetery in Clarita with Mr. Frank Wallace officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday evening 6 to 8 p.m. Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Vick was born February 8, 1924 to Roy and Inez (Shones) Bowerman at Olney, OK and passed away October 6, 2020 at Olney at the age of 96 years, 7 months and 28 days. She attended and graduated from Olney High School and worked at Bluebell as a seamstress and was a homemaker. Alice married William Carl Vick on September 2, 1947 in Sherman, TX. He preceded her in death September 30, 1985. Alice was a member of the Olney Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, taking care of her yard and loved to dance when she was younger. Alice was excellent at canning and loved to read books, especially westerns.

Survivors include her children, Alice F. Winningham of Wapanucka, OK, Carleen Jemison, William Carl Vick, Jr. and wife Elizabeth, all of Coalgate and Sheila Nelson and husband Curtis of Olney; grandchildren, Roberta Bolen and husband Victor of Stonewall, OK, Tanya Wallace and husband Frankie of Milburn, OK, Carmela Heskett of Atoka, OK, Jeremiah Foreman and wife Sage of Coalgate, Joshua Nelson and wife Kristy, Milo Nelson and wife Melissa, all of Tupelo, OK and Marshal Jemison of Coalgate; twenty-one great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; brother, Roy Bowerman of Coalgate; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Juan Del Foreman; son-in-law, Harold Winningham; sisters, Dee Tomlinson and Gladys Taylor and brother, Freddie Bowerman.

Casketbearers will be Jeremiah Foreman, Joshua Nelson, Milo Nelson, Drew Parker, Lonnie Hearrell, Joseph Foreman, and Ridge Kennedy. Honorary bearers will be Troy Blevins, John Fortner and J. Don Flint.
