Service Thursday for Eldon Eddie Hogue, Sr.

A graveside service for Eldon Eddie Hogue Sr., a Centrahoma resident, will be held Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Byrd’s Prairie Cemetery in Tupelo with Pastor David Boggs offi ciating. Family night will be Wednesday, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hogue was born February 16, 1949 to Otto Carl and Bessie Opal (Weaver) Hogue at Centrahoma, OK and passed away March 21, 2022 at Centrahoma at the age of 73 years, 1 month and 5 days. He graduated from Tupelo High School Class of ‘67 and graduated from East Central University with a Bachelor of Science Degree.

Eldon served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and married Sarah Elaine Jones on January 10, 1970 at San Diego, California. He was a Division 3 Maintenance Supervisor for ODOT for 45 years until his retirement. Eldon was a faithful member of the Centrahoma Baptist Church. He was a Master and Past Master of the Stonewall Lodge #113 and liked to hunt and fish.

Survivors include sons, Eldon Eddie Hogue, Jr. and wife Letricia of Cottonwood, OK and Jeffery Mark Hogue of Clarita, OK; grandsons, Nathan Hogue and wife Mackenzie, Tristen Hogue and wife Chelby, all of Centrahoma, Kason Hogue and Lincoln Hogue, both of Ada, OK; granddaughters, Raygan Hogue and Madelyn Hogue, both of Ada; greatgrandchildren, Jaxtan, Kinsley, Ryker, Aubree and Ava Hogue all of Centrahoma; and best friend, Pastor David Boggs.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Elaine (Jones) Hogue; parents, Otto Carl and Bessie Opal (Weaver) Hogue; brothers, Carl Hogue, David Hogue and Melvin Hogue; and sister, Ruby Joyce.

Casketbearers will be Nathan Hogue, Tristen Hogue, Kason Hogue, Kamron Hogue, Blake Buskirk, Donald Compton and Lincoln Hogue. Honorary bearers will be Kent Buskirk, Gary Hogue, Bruce Hogue, Terry Michael Jones and Ray Stipe.
