Service today for James Carl Oliphant

James Carl Oliphant passed away Saturday, October 19th, 2019 in his home at Wetumka, Oklahoma at the age of 67.

James was born July 28, 1952 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Ralph Arnold “Sonny” Oliphant and Emma Jo McKosky Oliphant.  He graduated from Holden-ville public school and later attended Eastern A & M and received an Associates Degree in Ranch Management.  James married June Young in Mena, Arkansas on October 23, 1999.  He was a self-employed rancher and a member of New Life Church in Wewoka.  James enjoyed fishing, hunting, being a prankster, driving tractors and riding motorcycles.  James did a motorcycle ride from Key West, FL to Alaska once for his enjoyment.  He loved the ranch and spending time with family.  

James is preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his wife June Oliphant of the home, son James Raynor Oliphant and wife Megan of Wewoka, Alisha Cowart of Holdenville, daughter Carlee Poindexter and husband Ryan of Holdenville, son Jason Nix of Holden-ville, daughter Amy Nix of Okemah, daughter Leesa Roscoe and husband Chris of Choctaw daughter Ange-,

la Nix of Harrah, 14 grandchildren and sister Beverly Hodgins and husband Trent of Okemah.  

The family greeted guests for visitation Tuesday October 22, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday (today) October

23, 2019 at the New Life Church in Wewoka with Pastor Tommy Azlin officiating and assisted by Perry Justus.

Pallbearers are Raynor Oliphant, Jason Nix, Chris Roscoe, Byron Cates, Terry Stone and Swade Johnson.  Honorary pallbearers are Glen Payne, Michael Nowakowski, Trent Hodgins, Dave Cofer, Johnny Hoover, Roy Sisco, and Billy Brown.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
