Visitation for Betty Sue (Nottingham) Layne, a Lehigh resident, will be Tuesday, March 15, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate.

Betty was born October 23, 1952 to Jessie James and Betty Gean (Cornett) Nottingham at Odessa, TX and passed away March 5, 2022 at Lehigh at the age of 69 years, 4 months and 10 days. She graduated from Happy Camp California High School and was a registered nurse. Betty served in the United States Air Force as a technician and married George Richard Channon. She enjoyed knitting, reading, watching TV and cooking.

Survivors include her husband, George Richard Channon of the home in Lehigh; daughters, Violet Brown and husband Eric of Hayfork, CA and Richard Bobby Polen of Clifton, CA; sons, Jody Rogers and Greg Rogers, both of Blanchard, LA; sisters, Charlotte Arndt of Twin Falls, ID and Lasaundra Nottingham of Atlanta, TX; brothers, Anthony Nottingham of Atlanta, TX and Calvin Nottingham of Linden, TX; grandchildren, Charles, Richard, Ophelia, Billy,

Candace, Hallie, Sara and Jacob. Large extended family including greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Tessa Nottingham; grandson, Eric Brown; great-granddaughter, Charlotte Brown; brothers, James Nottingham, Gary Nottingham, and Johnny Nottingham; and niece, Debbie Nottingham.
