Services held for Vincent Owen Ott

Funeral services for Vincent “Vinny or Harold” Owen Ott, a Coalgate resident, were held Monday, February 14, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate. Burial was in Lone Star Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ott was born March 19, 1958 to Virgil Oliver and Freda Louise (Carnes) Ott at Coalgate and passed away February 11, 2022 at Coalgate at the age of 63 years, 10 months and 23 days. He graduated from R. L. Turner High School in Carrollton, TX and also attended Hill Junior College in Hillsboro, TX.

Vincent worked at Choctaw Archiving and was a paraprofessional for Coalgate Schools. He married Brenda Joann Tomlinson on October 2, 2020 at Atoka, OK. Vincent was a member of the Lone Star Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and playing pool. He loved playing every sport that had a ball in it with his family. Vincent’s favorite times were bossing his siblings around.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Joann (Tomlinson) Ott of Coalgate; mother, Freda Louise (Carnes) Ott of the home in Coalgate; children, Joshua Ott and wife Amber of Erie, CO, Jacob Ott and wife Chelsea of Carrollton, TX, and Katie Ott of Houston, TX; stepchildren, Cliff Tomlinson of Ada, Harley Flowers and Shian Flowers, both of Coalgate; grandchildren, Ella Grace Ott of Carrollton, TX, Keira Ott of Erie, CO; siblings, Gayle Salinas, Lynn Ott-Clem, Tina Clem, and Mel Alan Ott and wife Gina, all of Coalgate; uncle, Ellis Carnes; aunt, Ellen Cole; and beloved dog Peanut, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Vincent was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Oliver Ott; paternal grandparents, Willie Ott and Carrie Ott and maternal grandparents, Ellis Carnes, Sr. and Evelyn Cole.

Casketbearers were Gaven Ott, Caleb Perry, Koda Wainscott, Cliff Tomlinson, Justin Johnson, and Joey Brown. Honorary bearers were Noah Burris, Ellis Carnes, Jr., Councilman James Frazier and Joey Garside.
