Thomas Morgan Perry Passes Away

Funeral services for ThomasMorganPerrySr. a longtime Wapanucka, OK resident, will be held Sunday, May 25, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wapanucka Baptist Church with Bro. Darwin Hall officiating. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Wapanucka with Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Perry was born April 5, 1937 to Larcus Raymond and Nannie Lou (Morgan) Perry at Ada, Ok and passed away May 17, 2025 at Oklahoma City at the age of 88 years, 1 month and 12 days. He attended rural schools in Coal County, Lehigh, and Wapanucka High School. Thomas went on to attend Stephen’s Trade School and learned his mechanics there.

He married Beverly (Hardwick) June 18, 1960 at Miami, OK. She preceded him in death after celebrating 52 years of marriage. Thomas owned and operated Freeway Gas Station and Auto Service in Kansas City, MO, City Grocery in Wapanucka and was a farmer and rancher. He was a longtime member and deacon at Wilson Baptist Church and later moved membership to First Baptist Church in Wapanucka. Thomas enjoyed tinkering with small engine repair, farm equipment and had a mechanical mind and could fix anything. He enjoyed visiting with family.

Survivors include his daughter, Cathy Perry of Wapanucka; grandchildren, Jennifer Perry and Chance Busby of Atlanta, TX, Richard Perry and wife Candace of Tulsa, Brad Perry and wife Danae of Oakland, CA, Trey Morgan Perry III and wife Jessica of Wapanucka, Bridget Perry and Sabrina Lozano of Norman, OK; great-grandchildren, Tyson Perry and Tucker Perry; sister, Emma Lou Denson and husband Doug of Ada; very dear special friend, Loretta Pierce of Wapanucka; sister-in-law, Judy Perry of Wapanucka; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Larcus and Nannie Lou Perry; wife, Beverly Perry; sons, Thomas Morgan Perry Jr., and Denny Perry; brother, Bill Perry; and nephew, Billy “Bucky” Perry.

Casketbearers will be Jimmy Floyd, Felix Valdez, Ryan Williams, Richard Cook, Clay Baxter, and Matthew Costiloe. Honorary bearers will be Allan Cribbs, Mike Thompson, Terry Harrison, Clarence Junior Robertson and Rick Floyd.
