Wilbur Joseph Machado

Memorial services for Wilbur Joseph Machado, a Coalgate resident, will be held Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate. Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Machado was born November 29, 1943 to Henry Joseph and Pauline (Steffan) Machado at Antioch, CA and passed away November 6, 2022 at Coalgate, OK at the age of 78 years, 11 months and 8 days. He attended Oakley Elementary School in Oakley, CA and graduated from Liberty Union High School in Brentwood, CA. Wilbur married Joyce Buchanan on May 29, 1965 at Antioch, CA. They enjoyed 57 years together. He was a machine operator for Glass Containers where he made all types of glass jars. Wilbur was a member of the South Atoka Church of Christ. He enjoyed fishing, doing remodeling jobs, watching westerns and CNN. Wilbur loved going camping with his family. He was a hard worker.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce (Buchanan) Machado of the home in Coalgate; children, Christy Machado and Troy Hall of Coalgate, Michael Machado and wife Dorothy of Keller, TX; grandchildren, Danae Miller and Brandon Smith, Ronnie Miller and wife Kalea, Lexi Miller, Dante Machado and Dylan Machado; greatg randchildren, Henson Miller and Blaze Smith; sisters-in-law, Pearl Hobbs of Harrison, AR, Shirley Domingo of Atoka, OK and Dottie Moura of Antioch, CA; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many dearly loved friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Joseph and Pauline (Steffan) Machado; son, Darren Machado; siblings, Gary Machado, Sandra Duggan and Pammy Alioto; and sister-in-law, Freda Eastridge.

Honorary bearers will be Mitch Domingo, Ty Domingo, Noah Domingo, Ronnie Miller, Ronald Miller, Brandon Smith, Dante Machado, Dylan Machado and Troy Hall.
