Our Sympathies extended to the families of...Leota Marie Keener

Graveside services for Leota Marie (Walker) Keener, a Coalgate resident, were held Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Moore Cemetery with Bro. Charles Collett officiating. Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Keener was born May 31, 1917 to Moffit and Ada (Crane) Walker at Tecumseh, OK and passed away November 29, 2020 at Coalgate at the age of 103 years, 5 months and 29 days. She graduated from Clarita High School and married Clarence Keener. He preceded her in death April 6, 1960. Leota was a cafeteria worker at Clarita School. She also cooked at the Mary Hurley Hospital and Nursing Home. Leota had also worked in nursing homes in California. She was a member of the Church of Christ of Coalgate and loved crocheting, quilting and playing the guitar.

Survivors include her daughters, Yvonne Kirby and Nelda Jean Wilson, both of Stockton, California; eight grandchildren and numerous greatgrandchildren; and sister, Zelda (Walker) Ridley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Dalton Keener; grandson, Glen Keener; granddaughter, Vickey Keener and son-in-law, Dan Kirby.

Casketbearers were family and friends.
