Sondra Lee Brandon Belleci Passes Away

The family of Sondra Lee Brandon Belleci announces her peaceful passing on October 9, 2025, in Antioch, California. She was 88 years old.

Sondra was born near Cairo, Oklahoma, on July 6, 1937, to Bruce and Hazel Brandon. Her childhood was filled with family surrounded by her grandparents— Sim and Augusta Brandon and Joe and Esther Perry. When she was a young girl, her family moved to California, where she grew up in the City of Martinez.

A lifelong learner, Sondra pursued her passion for education at San Francisco State University, where she earned her teaching credential. Her dedication to nurturing young minds became a lifelong vocation. She was admired not only for her knowledge but also for her kindness, patience, and ability to make every student feel valued and capable. On August 7, 1960, Sondra married Russell Belleci, beginning a marriage that lasted 56 wonderful years. Together, they built a home, raising their son, Mark Russell Belleci. Sondra found joy in being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Sondra’s legacy continues through her son, Mark, and his wife, Christine Lassiter Belleci; her two grandchildren, Tyler Bruce Belleci and Cali Cecilia Belleci Ramirez; and her great-grandchildren— Ayden Sondra Belleci, Olivia Faith Ramirez, Carter Anthony Ramirez, and one more great-grandchild on the way. Each of them carries forward her enduring love, wisdom, and strength.

Sondra now joins her husband, Russell, in eternal peace. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.

A celebration of Sondra’s life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to share memories and honor the remarkable woman she was. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Russell, at Oak View Cemetery in Antioch, California.
