Funeral services for Larry Marvin Hensley, a long-time Lehigh resident, will be held Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Bro. Lloyd Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Lehigh Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate. Family night will be Wednesday evening, July 15, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Larry was born on March 30, 1951, to Marvin Fredrick and Cassie Ozina (Cox) Hensley, at Atoka, Oklahoma. He passed away on July 10, 2026, at Ardmore, Oklahoma, at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 10 days. Larry attended Roosevelt Schools and graduated from Coalgate High School with the Class of 1968.

After High School, Larry served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a helicopter door gunman. After he returned home from the service, he worked for Ethan Allen for a short time then became a mechanic for his father, Marvin, at the Lehigh Salvage. Larry rebuilt transmissions at his own garage for many years where friends would hang out and have a good time.

He married Rosezene Bertha Beasley at the McAlester Elk Lodge where they met years before while dancing. Larry was a professional dancer and even gave dancing lessons. He was of the Baptist faith. Larry enjoyed going to the casino, fishing, collecting antiques and working on cars, especially his 1968 Chevelle that he was so proud of. He loved and cherished his family and his dogs. Larry enjoyed all the holidays. He always decorated for Halloween and loved to spook at the kids before he gave them the best candy and sodas. Larry loved dressing up as Santa and also playing dirty Santa. His favorite place to eat was Long John Silvers and drinking Mountain Dew. Larry was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Rosezene Bertha Hensley of the home in Lehigh, OK; son, Carly Hensley and wife Michelle of Atoka, OK; grandchildren, Chloe HensleyandRaylanHensley of Atoka, OK; siblings, Carol Bailey and husband David, Mike Hensley and Crystal Cosper, all of Lehigh, and Joyce Partin and husband Glendon of Atoka; aunts, Lola Mae Cole of Atoka, Donna Star, and Loreda Fortenberry both of Oklahoma City; nieces and nephews, Cassandra Bailey, Chris Horn, Dee Hensley, Joe Don Partin, Gary Hensley and Prissy Palmer; Bonus daughter, Tashena Floyd of Durant, OK; sisterin- law, Irene Scoggin and husband George of Atoka; along with numerous great nieces, great nephews and many dearly loved friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Fredrick and Cassie Ozina (Cox) Hensley; baby twin brother, Gary Arvin Hensley; maternal grandfather, Dee Cox and sister-in-law, Pam Hensley.

Casketbearers will be Dee Hensley, Gary Lee Hensley, Joe Don Partin, JR Hobbie, Chris Horn and Roy Yarbrough. Serving as honorary bearers will be Buddy Cottrell, Tony Airington, Jay Heathcock, Glendon Partin, Colin Heathcock and Alfred Horn.
