Dear Sir: It’s so stupid for the Democrats to say they won’t negotiate until the government shutdown is cancelled. They say Trump is holding them hostage, and yet by saying they won’t negotiate until the shutdown ends, whose holding whom hostage?

Dear Editor: Only intervention from God can stop the moral decline of America. The hoopla about the historical significance of the election of Pelosi as Speaker of the House will pass, but there will be consequences, unless there is a change of heart.

Has someone sent you an email or letter demanding that you send them a ‘donation’ to keep quiet about porno you’ve been watching? I have received two such emails, and both went to my trash file. I deleted the first email, but then I received a second one and decided I needed to inform the public.

Read this once, pause for a minute or two to think honestly about it, and then read it again. We can find no fault with it…the views this mother has about Donald Trump are much like many other people. Her characterization of Trump as the “Salty Sailor” or as “The Fireman” paint an excellent picture!

Happy New Year Seems simple enough. For those old enough to remember the New Year following 1999 was a lot more hectic. Lots of folk, thinking that 1999 would last forever forgot to program the year 2,000 into the new gadgets, computers and all that.

Two men and a female are behind bars in the Coal County jail after one of the men allegedly repeatedly ran over a man early Sunday morning in Phillips with his vehicle. The second man and the woman were passengers in the vehicle. The three suspects and the victim live in Ada.

My bank just told me it would take eight business days for a large check I got for selling a house to clear. That’s two weeks in non-banker time. And it was another bank’s check. You’d think they’d at least trust each other, even if they don’t trust me.

I am one of those that will never buy a NIKE product again. They admire a football player that has no respect for our flag and praise him for his “sacrifice.” Mr. Kaepernick doesn’t know the meaning of sacrifice. Mr. Kaepernick is proud to take a knee during the national anthem.
