A late-night traffic stop on June 5 led to the arrest of a man now facing multiple charges, including driving under the influence and obstructing an officer, after allegedly giving false identification and refusing to cooperate with law enforcement.

A routine traffic stop in Coalgate on the evening of June 1, 2025, led to a felony drug arrest and the seizure of cocaine, paraphernalia, and thousands of dollars in cash. Authorities say the discovery points to an intent to distribute illegal narcotics.

A routine traffic stop on Highway 3 led to the arrest of a woman on felony drug trafficking charges after deputies with the Coal County Sheriff’s Department discovered more than 50 suspected ecstasy pills in her vehicle.

The Lehigh Development Authority (Authority) in Coal County received approval for a $99,999 Rural Economic Action Plan (REAP) grant on Tuesday through the Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB) to improve the Authority’s water infrastructure.
