THE TUPELO LADY TIGER SLOW-PITCH SOFTBALL TEAM HAS BEEN NAMED ACADEMIC STATE CHAMPIONS and will be presented their trophy before the finals of the Class A State Tournament tomorrow (Tuesday, May 2) at Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.

Raeleigh Madden advanced to Regionals in golf which will be held at Arrowhead Park. Raeleigh, a Junior at Coalgate High School, has shown a lot of talent in the sport and is coached by Scott Roe. She won 2nd in Districts at Tishomingo.

Coalgate Wildcats Take Victory Over Stonewall Coalgate Wildcats Varsity beat Stonewall 7-3 on Monday.In the second inning, Coalgate got their offense started when Easton Wilkinson drew a walk, scoring one run.Payton Hilfer took the win for the Wildcats.

LADYCATS HOST DISTRICTS Lady Cats hosted districts Monday April 17 & came out victorious. In game one vs Wewoka, Coalgate blew out their opponent 15-0.In game two Coalgate blew away Okmulgee by ten runs. The Lady Wildcats easily did away with Okmulgee 11-1 on Monday.

Braedy Wardrope Drives In Four As Coalgate Lady Wildcats Defeats Byng Four runs batted in from Braedy Wardrope helped lead Coalgate past Byng 13-2 on Tuesday. Wardrope drove in runs on a triple in the first and a double in the second.The Lady Wildcats got on the board in the first inning.

Coalgate Wildcats Lose Lead Early In Defeat The Coalgate Wildcats watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 9-3 loss to Atoka on Tuesday. Atoka scored on a error in the first inning and a double by #11 in the first inning.Coalgate lost despite out-hitting Atoka six to five.

Early Lead For Prague, OK Seals Fate For Coalgate Lady Wildcats Coalgate Lady Wildcats fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 8-1 loss to Prague, OK on Thursday. Prague, OK took the lead on a home run in the first inning.

Both teams were strong on the mound Tuesday, but Coalgate defeated Bridge Creek 2-1. Cade Cometti allowed just six hits to Bridge Creek.Cometti was credited with the victory for the Wildcats’ Varsity. The pitcher surrendered one run on six hits over seven innings, striking out nine.

Less than a week remains for registered voters to apply for absentee ballots to be mailed to them for the April 4 elections.The elections include the following: Tupelo Board of Education Office 3: Candidates - Karrie Dawn Watson, Cristine Wortman.
