COALGATE WALLACE BYRD MS CHEERLEADERS were all smiles at the May 28 high school alumni reunion mixer as they greeted people and helped with registration. From left are Rebekah Hall, Kristy Coats, Laramie Hatter and Leah Lewis standing behind their coach, Becky Ward. The girls are looking forward to cheer camp and are selling chances on a gift basket containing over $600 worth of cash and prizes to raise money for the camp and for cheer equipment. Read moreTREY WILKINSON SIGNS WITH CARL ALBERT — Coalgate senior Trey Wilkinson signed a letter of intent on March 30 with Carl Albert State College in Poteau, OK where he will become a member of the Vikings baseball team. Trey has been a member of the Coalgate Wildcat baseball team for four years and the football team for three years and says he is looking forward to continuing his education and baseball career at Carl Albert. Braedy didn’t allow a single run against Caney, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Coalgate Wildcats Varsity to a 5-0 victory. The Wildcats got things started in the first inning when Breana Hale doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Carli Cox hit two homeruns in that game and Kylee Watson hit one, a grand slam. They were not the only power hitters in the tournament: Ava Sliger also hit a home run and Maci Gaylor grand-slammed in the Coleman game. Raylee Jones had a grand slam in the first game against Stringtown.
