With Braedy Wardrope on the mound, Coalgate shuts out Caney. Braedy didn’t allow a single run against Caney, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Coalgate Wildcats Varsity to a 5-0 victory.
Not to be upstaged, the 1972-73 Coalgate boys’ basketball team will soon be inducted into the Coalgate Hall of Fame, as did the Wildcat football team a couple of years ago. Both teams made it to the state semi-finals before ending their seasons.
These two ladies, happily holding the district plaque, helped the Tupelo Lady Tigers to a 18-4 win over Coleman in the district finals. Carli Cox hit two homeruns in that game and Kylee Watson hit one, a grand slam.
In the district game 2, freshman pitcher, Zane Wilkerson, took the win on the mound for Tupelo, 20-1, pitching 3 innings and throwing 5 strikeouts. Offensively, Zane had 2 hits and 3 RBIs. Junior, Cody Airington, backed him up at shortstop.

Tupelo Defeats Kiowa in Blow Out Victory Thanks to Fourth Inning BoostTupelo put up seven runs in the fourth on its way to a 9-1 victory over Kiowa on Friday. The big inning was thanks to singles by Brody Mccollum and Cash Wafford, a groundout by Dalton O’dell, and a double by Peyton Bills.
