Shadow Bayles is the son of Mandy (Smith) Bayles and Omar Bayles, both of Coalgate, and the grandson of Eugene and Brenda Yarbrough, Beverly Layton, and William Smith. He has one sister, Lacy Smith, and two brothers, Terry Bayles and Savion Friar.
