Al Workman

Memorial service for Al Workman, a lifelong Caney, OK resident, will be held Friday, April 18, 2025 at 12:00 noon at Voca Baptist Church in Caney, OK. Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Workman was born November 13, 1951 to James Robert and Eva Ethel (Tigert) Workman at Oklahoma City and passed away April 7, 2025 at Durant, OK at the age of 73 years, 4 months and 25 days. He attended Tushka Public School and graduated from Caney High School with the class of ‘70 and was a truck driver. Al enjoyed riding motorcycles, horses, and mules, taking care of his chickens and other critters at the house. He never turned down a free meal and loved eating with the family and aggravating. Al hit all the mule sales and festivities.
Survivors include Linda Jones of the home in Caney; children, Michele Deaton and husband Keith of Bentley, OK, Marty Wafford and husband Michael of Clarita and Matt Workman and wife Ginia of Caney; grandchildren, Kristen Loyd, Shane Hutson both of Bentley, Daniele Deaton of Tushka, Cash Wafford, Lainee Wafford, both of Clarita, Colton Workman of Caney and Cassidy Workman of Atoka; great-grandchildren, Tyler Hutson, Gus Hutson, Jynsi Loyd, Lucie Rector and Lane Rector; siblings, Jimmy Workman and wife Rena, Reta Mattison, Ann Richardson and husband Roger, all of Caney, Pat Duncan and husband Levi of Mead, OK, Mike Workman and wife Carla of Caney, Mary Hooper and husband Mike of Bentley, Zeni Workman of Durant, OK; brothers-in-law, Layton Gossett, Bobby Willis, Eddie Willis all of Caney and Oscar Willis of Macomb, OK; lifelong best friend, Del Peoples; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Robert and Eva Ethel (Tigert) Workman; mother of his children, Susan Baugher; sister, Marie Gossett; and brothers-in-law, Harv Mattison, Bo Willis, Benny Willis and Larry Willis.
There will be a meal then a slideshow for Celebration of Life.
