He left this world doing what he loved on August 26, 2023 at McAlester, Oklahoma at the age of 16 years, 11 months and 29 days. Derby loved the Lord and it showed through his actions and love towards others. Derby attended Cottonwood and Coalgate Public School. He was a man of many talents and colorful words. He was a skilled laborer and had many jobs that ranged from skinning deer, hauling hay and mechanicing. He worked alongside his friends, neighbors, and his family and would often ask for company when there was work involved. He was known to be good at taking apart anything and everything and putting it back together. Derby developed a love and passion for bull riding at an early age. When he was young, he was obsessed with all things PBR and he would never give up that dream. He enjoyed the great outdoors such as hunting, fishing, going to the lake, driving back roads, listening to loud music, burning his tires, and hanging out on the corner with his friends. Derby’s greatest honor was being a big brother to Jace and Shane. He loved them fiercely and it showed by allowing them to be a part of anything he and his friends were doing.
