Funeral services for Ola Mae Burris, an Ada resident, will be held Wednesday (today) September 6, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Bro. Jim Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Round Lake Cemetery, Centrahoma, with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Burris was born January 23, 1948 to Lee and Verdie (Wesley) Burris at Talihina, OK and passed away September 2, 2023 at Ada, OK at the age of 75 years, 7 months and 10 days. She attended grade school at Centrahoma and graduated from Tupelo High School Class of 1967. Ola Mae was a retired health care provider. She was a member of the Round Lake Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was active with the Choctaw Seniors. When she was young she was known a “Cha-cha”. Ola Mae enjoyed working puzzle books, playing on her computer and doing puzzles. She had a great love for cats and Elvis Presley. Ola Mae loved spending time with her family and truly had a servants’ heart.

Survivors include her sisters, Veronica McDaniel and husband Chock, Vickie McClure, Doris Samuels, Faye Ratcliff, and Gwen Burris; brother, David Burris and wife, Shirley; sister-inlaw, Karen Burris, cousin, Catherine Wade; along with a host of nieces, nephews greatnieces, greatnephews, cousins and many friends and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her father, Rev. Lee Burris, mother, Verdie (Wesley) Burris; step-mother, Mildred Burris; sisters, Leona Murphy, Rosetta Amos, Helen Burris and Dorena Burris; brothers, Paul Burris, Donny Burris and Noah Burris; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Casketbearers will be Michael Villarreal, Phillip Murphy, Robert Murphy, Trevan Jimboy, Jeff Burris and Brenden Jackson. Honorary bearers will be Anthony Amos, David Burris, Brad Jefferson, Terrell Jefferson, Tim Jefferson, Quincy Rameriz and Elijah Factor.
