Funeral services for Donna Jean (Howard) Young, a lifelong Atoka/Coal County resident, were held Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Stringtown, Oklahoma with Bro. Bartt Bradford officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Stringtown with Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Young was born July 15, 1940 to Ellis Everett and Ethelyn Sarrah (Henson) Howard at Stringtown, OK and passed away October 11, 2023 at Atoka, OK at the age of 83 years, 2 months and 26 days. She graduated from Stringtown High School in the class of 1958 and married Keith Young at Atoka. He preceded her in death. Donna was an administrative assistant at the Soil Conservation Service. She was a longtime member of the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed being outdoors, bird watching, deer watching and loved being with her family.

Survivors include her children, Debbie Howard of Coalgate, Brian Lansdale of Stillwater, OK, Linda Campbell of Oklahoma City and Rebecca Goff and husband Randy of Atoka; grandchildren, Kenneth Howard and wife Karie of Crestview, FL, Sarah Moore and husband Robert of Daisy, OK, A. J. Lansdale of Chicago, IL, and Ty Goff and wife Keely of Ft. Smith, AR; seven greatg randchildren; brothers, Doug Howard and wife Linda of Atoka, Dwight Howard and Michael Howard, both of Stringtown; special niece, Cherokee Kennedy of Atoka; lifelong friend, Stella Gibbs of TN; along with nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis Everett and Ethelyn Sarrah (Henson) Howard; husband, Keith Young; sisters, Dorothy McClary and Darlene McKinney; and brothers, Dale Howard and Carl Davis Howard.

Casketbearers were Shaun Hughston, Steven Kennedy, Todd Kennedy, Phillip Eaves, Charlie Lee, Justin Kennedy, and Bremmer Hatter.
