Funeral services for Glenn Watkins, a Coalgate resident, will be Th ursday, December 5, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Pastor Gary Weeden officiating. Burial will be in Lehigh Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements. Family night will be Wednesday night 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel.

Mr. Watkins was born October 26, 1948 to William James and Luda Leila (Puckett) Watkins in Ada, OK and passed away December 2, 2019 at Coalgate at the age of 71 years, 1 month and 6 days. He attended and graduated from Coalgate High School in 1968. Glenn proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and married Diana Pebworth on May 25, 1981 at the Methodist Church in Coalgate. Glenn worked for the Department of Transportation Ada Division for 37 years, retiring in 2004. He was of the Baptist faith, but attended the Coalgate Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed watching westerns while drinking his coff ee. Glenn loved checking out Main Street every morning “Just to see if anything changes”. He loved his nieces and nephews with everything he had. His cats were by his side everyday and he wouldn’t have it any other way. Glenn loved working his cattle and he always had a name for them.

Survivors include his wife, Diana Watkins of the home; brothers, Eddie Watkins and wife Gerry of Clinton, OK and Buddie Watkins and wife Paula of Ada, OK; brothers-in-law, Kenny Pebworth and wife Shonda, Daniel Pebworth and wife Mary, all of Coalgate and Vernon Harris of Ada, OK; nephews, Michael Watkins and wife Kara, Kent Watkins of Edmond, Brent Watkins, James Watkins and wife Sherry of Ada, Jason Pebworth and wife Rachel of Centrahoma, OK, Jon Pebworth and wife Kendell of Dewar, OK, Jesse Pebworth, Justin Pebworth and wife Shauna, Jansyn Pebworth all of Coalgate, and Ricky Tillery and wife Kayla of Boonesville, AR; nieces, Pam Beard and husband Country, Kenda Pebworth all of Coalgate, Kalee Burson and husband Aaron of Edmond, OK, Kenzi Pebworth of Coalgate, Jessica Holland and husband Jason, Danyell Knight and husband Chad all of Ada Brianna Watkins of Coalgate; special friends, Gordon Smith and wife Kelly of Coalgate; Cats, Pumpkin Rae, Carly Dan and Penny Fern and Dog, Pepper Ray, along with many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Eddie Brant Watkins; niece Becky Watkins and sister-in-law Carol Harris.

Casktbearers will be Cliff Penner, Ronnie Gwinn, Jake Trevathan, Ricky Tillery, Jon Pebworth, Jason Pebworth, Justin Pebworth, Jansyn Pebworth and Jesse Pebworth. Honorary bearers will be Robin Sanders, Elden Hogue, Clay Lane, Calvin Crabtree, David Shores, Vernon Harris, Country Beard, Gordon Smith, Chuck Loudermilk, Danny Loudermilk, Tommy Ray Loudermik, Scotty Smith, Michael Watkins, Brent Watkins, and James Watkins.
