Graveside service held for Wanda Loraine Holcomb

Graveside services for Wanda Loraine Holcomb, a longtime Atoka resident, were held Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Meadows Cemetery in Atoka with Ray Gene Eaves officiating. Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Holcomb was born January 19, 1931 to Edward and Ruby (Williams) Bray at Tupelo, OK and passed away September 2, 2020 at her home in Atoka surrounded by her loved ones. She was 89 years, 7 months and 14 days of age. She attended East Jesse School and married James Emmitt Holcomb Sr., December 17 1951. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1997 after 46 years of marriage. Wanda was a housewife and homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She loved to garden and raise her many farm animals. Wanda was happiest when she was either outside or visiting with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons, James Holcomb Jr. of Atoka, John Holcomb and wife Sharon of Lane and Russell Holcomb of Atoka; daughters, Deloris Holland and husband Jerry, Patricia Mobbs and husband DeWayne all of Atoka and Terry Cook and husband James of Nashville, AR; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers and sisters; son, Paul Franklin Holcomb; and grandsons, Robert Sides and Shane Cook.

Family served as casketbearers.
