Mrs. Granger was born September 3, 1943 to William Loren and Leslie Lee (Reeves) Lee at Atoka, OK and passed away January 1, 2026 at Atoka at the age of 82. She graduated from Stringtown High School and married Dennis Ray Granger at Stringtown, OK. Judith worked in banking.
Judy was a member of Victory Life Church. She and Dennis faithfully served the Lord with time, money, and talents for many years. Judy was a vital part of ministries at Harmony Baptist, Dayspring, and Victory Life churches in Atoka County. She faithfully served in children’s and youth ministries as well as praise and worship on piano and in song. In addition, the prayer ministry team and intercessory prayer were her delight. Countless prayers for those on her list, whether family, friends or strangers, were a common daily practice.
The young, older, and everyone in between respected and loved her like family. Judy served at the Atoka/Coal Food Storehouse for numerous years. She tended the bread shelf and prayed for those who asked and were added to her list. Judy was also a part of the “Twister Sisters” group, deriving the name from the night of the 2011 tornado. It was the evening of April 11 and the gathering of ladies from Atoka and Coal counties were at the Treehouse in Caney. As word was received of the approaching storm, Judy and the others called upon the Lord for protection and started singing, “I know the Master of the Wind.” That night Judy’s house was severely damaged and required rebuilding, but through it all her faith remained resilient. Public service also included several years at the Atoka County Election Board. Wherever she served, she did it faithfully and energetically. Judy enjoyed serving others, singing and playing the piano, and working crossword puzzles. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her legacy lives on in all she touched.
Survivors include her sons, Mike Granger and wife Cheri and Evan Granger, all of Atoka, OK; grandchildren, Zac Granger and wife Stephanie, Kyle Granger and wife Heather, all of Atoka, Ashlynn Granger and Hagen Granger, both of Coalgate; great-grandchildren, Lily Granger, McKenzie Granger, Noah Granger and Caz Granger; special cousin/sister, Elaine Heard of Fillmore, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other dearly loved friends and family.
