Lane Lloyd Lester, beloved father, husband, brother and dear friend, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018, in Coalgate, OK, at the age of 41. He was born December 26, 1976, in Ardmore, OK, to Frank Lloyd Lester and Chloeta Kay (Raper) Lester.

Lane graduated from Tishomingo High School in 1995 and was a member of the Choctaw Nation. He was employed for 13 years as a forklift driver for the Walmart Distribution Center in Pauls Valley, OK. Lane often received recognition for being a “Top Performer” at work, and enjoyed the camaraderie and friendships he made with his colleagues. He adored the time he spent with his daughters, Sophie and Chloe. Lane loved playing “jumps” with them where he would throw them in the air and catch them. He loved taking the girls to the park, going on bike rides, swimming at Blue River and watching “My Little Pony” with his daughters. He also was proud of the girls’ artwork and was always excited to display their drawings. Lane also loved to FaceTime with his daughters every chance he got.

In 2014, Lane married Wendy (Hightower) and became a stepfather to her children, Colten and Kinsy. Some of his favorite moments with the family included trips to Broken Bow and Blue River and family game nights. He especially enjoyed Parcheesi and loved to win! Lane also enjoyed cooking and perfecting his recipes, watching the Dallas Cowboys and Sooners play and cuddling with his favorite dog, “Tom Banjo.” He was also passionate about music, had an eclectic taste in bands and songs and loved going to concerts. Lane enjoyed passing on his musical wisdom to Colten while listening to him play guitar. He was also a talented photographer and could take a perfect picture and enjoyed teaching Kinsy his love of editing.

Lane loved Tishomingo and enjoyed telling people about his hometown. Another favorite destination for him was eating at Gonzalez Mexican Restaurant, in Coalgate, where he joked with the staff and tried to persuade them to give him a free T-shirt. Lane was also known for his terrific sense of style. He enjoyed collecting Fossil watches and took great pride in how he dressed and styled his hair. One of his favorite activities was searching through thrift stores to find the perfect flannel shirt or unique T-shirt that would go perfectly with his Chucks.

Lane will also be remembered for his incredible sense of humor. He loved laughing and joking with family, friends and co-workers. He always had quick comebacks, quips and a captivating grin.

Lane found joy in the times when he could get together with friends and family to catch up, joke and share memories. He leaves behind a large group of friends who loved him and cherished the laughs, texts and conversations they shared with him.

He is survived by his two beautiful daughters, Sophie and Chloeta Lester, and their mother Kellie Veal of Norman, OK; his wife, Wendy Lester, and stepchildren, Colten and Kinsy Ringels, of Coalgate, OK; his brothers, Lance Lester, his wife, Veronica, and son, Rowan, of Richardson, Texas, and Kent Cole of Tishomingo, OK; and his sister, Tammy McCurry and her husband, Danny, of Dickson, OK.
