Our Sympathies Extended to the Families Of... Betty Lee Levingston

Graveside services for Betty Lee (Thomas) Levingston, a Coalgate resident, were held Monday, January 4, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Citra Cemetery in Allen, OK with Mr. Eddie Hogue officiating. Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Levingston was born June 14, 1931 to Calvin Neil and Ena (Taylor) Thomas at Coal County, OK and passed away December 31, 2020 at Coalgate at the age of 89 years, 6 months and 17 days. She attended Rock Creek Elementary School and graduated from Coalgate High School in 1949. Betty was a housewife and beautician. She married Thurman Levingston May 2, 1955 in Bakersfield, CA. He preceded her in death February 14, 2001. Betty attended Cottonwood Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting.

Survivors include a son, Dwayne Levingston and wife Janice of Bakersfield, CA; grandson, Ian Guthrie of Sherman, TX; sister-in-law, Patsy Thomas Lake of Coalgate, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Lee Levingston; daughter, Melody Ann Guthrie; brother, Pat Thomas; sister, Teresa Staggs and husband Eugene; father, Calvin Thomas and mother, Ena (Taylor) Thomas Fuller.

Casketbearers were Roger Levingston, David Levingston, Dub Tatum, Buddy Lawson, Kenny Levingston and Michael Guthrie.
