Virginia Leah Estes Thomas Rickard, 92, of Ada, Oklahoma passed away Friday, April 23rd, 2021 in Ada.

Virginia was born on August 2, 1928 in Lehigh, Oklahoma to James Monroe and Evelyn (Moats) Estes. She grew up in the Lehigh and Coalgate areas, and spent most of her life in agriculture, raising cattle and horses.

Virginia was a hard working woman, often working on something, but enjoyed quilting, gardening, watching her cows, and raising Appaloosa horses. Though some of her hobbies could be seen as “work”, they were fun and often relaxing for her. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, James and Evelyn Estes, husbands, Hugh “Max” Thomas and Derryl Rickard, one son, Leslie Thomas, one grandson, Grant Thomas, one granddaughter, Breea Thomas, sisters, Doris Howard, Helen Collum, Tennie Palmer, Mary Ann Yother, Norma Maynes, and June Elliott, and brothers, Harold Estes, Bernice Estes, Paul Estes, Chester Estes, and Joe Estes.

She is survived by her children, Vernon and wife Debbie Thomas of Ada, Oklahoma, Anita and husband Kim Thomas, Gilmer, Texas, and Amy and husband Terry Scott, Ada, Oklahoma, grandchildren Lisa and Everst Calvin, Brett and Bo Thomas, Les and Amanda Thomas, Katelyn Thomas, Kiley and Brian Bonner, and Ryan and Karlyn Scott, great-grandchildren Micah Worcester, Kason Calvin, Dante Calvin, Chloe Thomas, Nate Thomas, James Thomas, Rebekah Thomas, Elizabeth Thomas, Kendal Bonner, Josie Bonner, Luke Bonner, Molly Bonner, and Ellison Thomas, and one sister, Reba Eddings.
