Our sympathies to the families of Lee Elvis Murphy

Graveside services for Lee Elvis Murphy, a Centrahoma resident, will be held Saturday, June 26, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Canfield Cemetery in Idabel, OK. Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Murphy was born July 31, 1939 to Granville Lee and Elna Olena (Hampton) Murphy at Olney, OK and passed away June 18, 2021 at Centrahoma, OK at the age of 81 years, 10 months and 18 days. He graduated from Old Central High School in Tulsa, OK and attended Spartan Aeronautical Engineer School in Tulsa, OK. Lee married Eileen Pierce January 2, 1971 in Idabel, OK. She preceded him in death October 28, 2019. Lee was a Marine and worked as a mechanic for the railroad. He was a Southern Baptist, and a Grand Master in the Masonic Lodge. Lee loved the VFW and enjoyed fishing, dirt track races and being a shade tree mechanic. He loved animals, helping friends with their cattle and drinking coffee.

Survivors include a son, Jodie Jones and wife Kayla of Healdton, OK; daughters, Sonya Johnson and husband Larry of Valrico, FL, Tonya Silfies and husband Dan of Amarillo, TX, Tina Martin and Olean Murphy, both of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Ashley Sauber, Kerri Squires, Garrett Silfies, James Jones, Tata Jones, Derrick Murphy, David Napier III, and James Johnson; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Carla Sue May and Maxine Allen; brothers, Don Murphy and Bill Tollett; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Denna Murphy; stepson William Jones; sister, Zelda Werline and brother, Jimmy Taylor.

Casketbearers will be David Napier III, Derrick Murphy, James Jones, Billy Hufft, Josh Reed, and Colton Howell.
