Our sympathies to the families of Lovoyce Rushing

Funeral services for Lovoyce (Young) Rushing, a Coalgate resident, were held Friday, June 11, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Aaron Phinny officiating. Burial was in Centrahoma Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Rushing was born June 1, 1926 to James Kelsey and Martha Mae (Holeman) Young, at Boiling Springs, OK and passed away June 9, 2021 at Coalgate at the age of 95 years and 8 days. She married Clarence Burl Rushing June 20, 1953 at Atoka, OK. He preceded her in death January 14, 2010. Lovoyce was a homemaker and a member of the Gerty Church of Christ in Gerty, OK. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, playing the guitar, fishing and singing in church.

Survivors include daughters, Shirley Allen of Coalgate, Billie Jean Blaylock of Calvin, OK, Nancy Traylor and husband Ferlin of Allen, OK; sons, Doug Smith and wife Joy of Coalgate, Tim Rushing and wife Janice of Calvin, OK; seven grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear and loved friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and six siblings.

Casketbearers were Nathan Traylor, Heath Traylor, Ron Roden, Paul Blaylock, Ronald Blaylock Jr., and Ray Wilson. Honorary bearers were Rick Eddings and Clay Young.
