Funeral services for Roger Dale Hedgecock, an Atoka resident, will be held Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Pastor Kendal Knight officiating. Family night will be Wednesday, November 15, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Chapel. Burial will be in Moore Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service f Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Roger was born December 23, 1962 to Lula Bell Hedgecock and Ed and Loretta Farley at Coalgate, OK and passed away November 12, 2023 at the age of 60 years, 10 months and 20 days, at his home in Atoka, OK surrounded by loved ones. He graduated from Coalgate High School in the class of 1981 and worked in construction and the oil field. Roger was a faithful member of the Word of God Church. He liked hunting, fishing, camping, cooking, singing and spending time with family and friends. Roger will be remembered for his faith-filled heart, handy work, and teaching little kids how to cross their eyes and snort.

Survivors include daughters, Katy Hedgecock of Atoka, Tara Flint of Coalgate, Lacy Sanders and husband Charles of Atoka; son, Johnny Ray Billings of Coalgate; sisters, Suzan Cox of Coalgate, Sylvia Hulen and husband Roger of Asher, OK, Sue Wheat and husband Orval of Kenta, OK and Cendy Romero of Clarksville, TN; brother, Larry Don Evans and wife Faith of Sulphur, OK; grandchildren, NaKenzie Quarterman, Libby O’Brien, Braxton O’Brien, Blayne Dutton, Trayte Flint, Madyson Flint, Emily Taft-Billings and Thomas Taft-Billings; nieces, Sarah Knight, and husband Kendal, Lacey Dawn Calvert and husband Jason, all of Coalgate; nephews, Brett Howell and wife Cassie of Claremore, OK and Aaron Cox of Stillwater, OK; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and other loved family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lula Bell (Hedgecck) Evans; step-father, Marvin Evans; father, Ed Farley and wife Loretta; and brothers, Joe Howell, Thomas Carl Evans and Ellis Farley.

Casketbearers will be Aaron Cox, Lanny Hedgecock, Roy Deck, Nick Lee, Larry Nixon, and Weston Ross. Honorary bearers will be Brick Madden,BrandonMadden, Reichen Pebworth, Seven Williams, Tripp Jones, Shannon Hedgecock, Leo Matthews, and all the Ward boys.
