Service held for Don Henry King

Service held for Don Henry King

Graveside services for Don Henry King, a longtime Atoka, OK resident, were held Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at New Zion Cemetery in Atoka with Bro. Woodrow King officiating. Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. King was born April 16, 1934 to Jewel and Pearl (White) King at Ft. Towsen, OK and passed away August 6, 2021 at Atoka, OK at the age of 87 years, 3 months and 21 days. He attended Coalgate High School and served his country in the United States Army. Don married Edna Mae (Marlow) on June 6, 1959. They celebrated 61 years of marriage before her passing on January 8, 2021. Don was a cowboy and operated a dozer and was a member and a foreman of IUOE on the pipeline for over 40 years. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed working his cattle, doing anything outdoors, ranching and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his sons, Woodrow King and wife Kerri and Randy King and wife Kelly all of Atoka; grandchildren, Jessica King of Durant, Ambri Fuller and husband Tyler of Moyers, OK, Landon King and wife Payton of Rattan, OK and Baily King of Stringtown, OK; great-grandchildren Maddox Henry, Brealee Fuller, Tamara Fuller, Piper King, and Deliliah Ashbee; brothers-in-law, Wayne Marlow of Caney and Coy Marlow of Atoka; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jewel and Pearl (White) King; wife, Edna King; baby daughter, Mickey King; brother, Emery King and sister Billie Lee.

Casketbearers were Jimmy Smith, Greg Smith, Landon King, Bailey King, Tyler Fuller and Derek Marlow.
