Service held for James Wylie Parker

Funeral services for James Wylie Parker, a Coalgate resident, were held Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at Stonewall Baptist Church in Stonewall, OK with Pastor Craig Cochran officiating, assisted by Pastor Lyle Shipley. Interment was in Centrahoma Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Parker was born October 11, 1944 to James Lee Parker and Virgie Pauline (Rains) Parker at Atoka, OK and passed away August 19, 2021 at Coalgate, OK at the age of 76 years, 10 months and 8 days. He attended Atoka High School and was a self-employed plumber and retired after working for 50 years. Jimmy married Betty Mae Hyatt August 22, 1964 at Wallville, Oklahoma and she preceded him in death February 15, 1982. He later married Judy Paulette Cogburn January 23, 1984 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. They celebrated 37 wonderful years together. Jimmy enjoyed canning, gardening, tending to his cattle and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Paulette (Cogburn) Parker of the home in Coalgate, OK; children, James Wylie Parker and friend Kerrie Roberson of Stillwater, OK, Sheila Roberson and husband David of Tupelo, OK, Clark Parker and Christy Lemons of Coalgate, Sheri Collins and husband James of Bromide, OK, Mark Parker and wife Shannon of Sherman, TX, Marcy Williams and husband Michael of Coalgate; daughter-in-law, Melesa Parker of Tupelo; siblings, Rodger Eddie Parker of Tupelo, Lora Bergquist of Louisiana, and special friends, Tammy Palmer and the gang at C & C Hardware.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Lee Parker and Virgie Pauline (Rains) Parker; children, Eddie Lee Parker and Justin Parker; sisters, Georgia Grist and June Howard; and mother of his four children, Betty Mae (Hyatt) Parker.

Casketbearers were Drew Parker, Boe Ray, Taylor Ray, Rowdy Ray, Hunter Parker, Fisher Parker, Troy Parker, Brodee Parker, Trey Roberson and Kolton Parker.

Honorary bearers were Tammy Palmer, Joe Avanzini, Kenny Haney and George Haney.
