Service Thursday for Matthew Eli Michaelis

Services for Matthew Eli Michaelis, an Atoka, OK resident, will be held Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Atoka High School Cafetorium with Mark Eaton, Joe Chapin, Jeff Baltes and Crystal Robinson officiating. Interment will be at Brown’s Durant Funeral and Cremation Service, Durant, OK. Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka is in charge of arrangements.

Matthew was born September 9, 2002 to Ernest and Coralyne (Tree) Michaelis at Sindelfingen, Germany and passed away August 19, 2021 at Atoka at the age of 18 years, 11 months and 10 days. He attended Coalgate High School where he had finished his Junior year and was a Senior at Stringtown High School. Matthew attended Cornerstone Church and enjoyed playing bass guitar, basketball, and collecting samurai swords.

Survivors include his parents, Ernest and Coralyne (Tree) Michaelis of the home in Atoka; grandfather, Ernest Michaelis, Sr. of Colorado Springs, CO; uncles, Carl Tree of Manitou, CO, Patrick Tree of Colorado Springs,

CO, Gerry Tree and wife Shelli of Eagle River, AK, Chris Tree and wife Dianna of Farris, OK and Jeff Baltes and wife Lisa of Lebanon, IL; cousins, Ashkea Logan and husband Marcus of Farris, OK, Jenniffer Singleton and husband Kris of Atoka, Garett Tree of Eagle River, AK, Jonathan Tree of Hawaii, Seth Tree and wife Michaela of Atoka, Joshua Tree of California, Michael Michaelis of Colorado Springs, CO and Christopher Michaelis of Denver, CO; along with other relatives ad many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Roselyne Tree; grandmother, Patricia Michaelis and aunt, Sandra Michaelis.

Casketbearers will be Gerry Tree, Chris Tree, Jeff Baltes, Nathaniel Lette’, Tanner Thompson, Marcus Logan and Seth Tree. Honorary bearers will be Ernest L. Michaelis Sr., Christian Chaffin, Dan Herron, Kris Singleton and Clay Edwards.
