Service held for Joyce Jean Craig

Memorial services for Joyce Jean Craig, a Norman resident, formerly of Coalgate and Ada, were held Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at the Ada Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Dick Sowder officiating. Interment was in Coalgate Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Coalgate.

Mrs. Craig was born July 24, 1931 to Carl and Anna “Polly” (Cogburn) Jump in Coal County, OK and passed away June 28, 2019 at Norman, OK at the age of 87 years, 11 months and 4 days. She graduated from Coalgate High School in 1949 and attended Business College in OKC. Joyce married Buddy Lee Craig December 13, 1949 at Fairview, OK. He preceded her in death in March 2017. Joyce was a seamstress at Blue Bell/Wrangler and retired in 1979. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed sewing, crocheting and raising flowers.

Survivors include daughters, Rev. Jean Brown and husband Rev. Ken Brown of Norman, OK, Shirley Henson and husband Rev. Mark Henson of Atlanta, TX and Sandra Williams and husband Jim of Lexington, OK; grandchildren, Kenneth Brown II and wife Nikki of Wichita, KS, Stephanie Roberts and husband David of Yukon, OK, Rev. Rebekah Adams and husband Wes of Corinth, TX, Hillarie Kuhn and husband Denny of Noble, OK, Dustin Williams and wife Sara of Chicago, IL, Rev Chance Henson and wife Amanda of Gilmer, TX and Haley Phelps and husband Jacob of OKC; nineteen great- grandchildren; brother-in-law, Max Craig and wife Sondra of Texas; sisters-in-law, Jane Crosswhite of OKC, Sue Craig of OKC and Kay Martin and husband Jack of Texas, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
