Service held for Margarita Guerrero Sarabia

Funeral services for Margarita Guerrero Sarabia, a Cottonwood resident, were held Monday, December 20, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Pastor Eddie Hogue officiating. Burial was in Coalgate Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Sarabia was born October 21, 1940 to Henry C. and Beatrice (Flores) Guerrero at Marlin, TX and passed away December 15, 2021 at Cottonwood, OK at the age of 81 years, 1 month and 24 days. She graduated from Rule Texas High School in 1960 and married Philip Sarabia, Jr. November 13, 1965 at Haskell, TX. He preceded her in death in 1998. Margarita was a Dietary Aide at the Coalgate Nursing Home. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Coalgate and enjoyed taking care of her cats and dogs. She liked doing yard work and watching western movies. Survivors include her son, Philip Sarabia of Cottonwood, OK; sisters, Ortencia Aguero of Amarillo, TX, and Olivia Morales of Plainview, TX; brother, Sabastian Guerrero and wife Carmen of Kerrville, TX.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Sarabia, Jr.; parents, Henry C. and Beatrice (Flores) Guerrero; brother, Alfonso Guerrero and sister, Sally Guerrero Garza.

Casketbearers were Rick Guinn, Craig Wayne Brawdy, Brian Gene Johnson, Chris Covey, Phillip Thurman and Chris Hood.
