Service held for Peggy Fanning

A private family graveside service for Peggy Lou (Franklin) Fanning, a Coalgate resident, was held Friday,

April 17, 2020 at Lehigh Cemetery in Lehigh, OK with Mr. Charles Collett officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate.

Mrs. Fanning was born March 13, 1931 to Bernard and Bertha Estella (Dobson) Franklin at Midway, OK and passed away April 15, 2020 at Coalgate, OK at the age of 89 years, 1 month and 2 days. She attended Midway School for eight years, Coalgate for four years, graduating in 1948 and then ZON attended Oklahoma State University for two years. Peggy married Ernest for Paul Fanning on October 3, 1950. 2x2 He a line a preceded her in death on February 9, 2015. Peggy worked as Veterinary assistant for over 20 years and worked at the ASCS office. She loved playing cards, going to all day auctions and F garage sales. Peggy was a member of E the Church of Christ, Eastern Star and a OHCA.

Survivors include her children, Johnnie Brenda Burns and Ernie Fanning and wife Debbie, all of Coalgate; grandchildren, Roland Fanning and wife Beverly of Stillwater, Amber Fanning, Raymond Burns, Nolan Fanning and fiance Macee Wyatt, all of Coalgate; great-grandchildren, Atty Fanning of Coalgate, Emery Jo Fanning, Eastyn Fanning, both of Stillwater, Sydney Williams, and Nakona Burns, both of Pittsburg, OK; along with numerous other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, E.P Fanning; parents, Bernard Brashears and Bertha Estella (Dobson) Fanning; sisters, Elizabeth Deaton and husband Austin, Margie Blue and husband Gilbert; sisters-in-law, Doris Harrison and husband Toy, Zanola Pratt and husband Don; mother-in-law, Velma Fanning; father-in-law, Jess Fanning and wife Ida and special father, Johnny Hall.

Casketbearers were Roland Fanning, Raymond Burns Phillip Wilkinson, Aaron Blue and Berney Blue.
