Service held for William Paxton

Funeral services for William Clyde “Pretty Boy” Paxton, a longtime Lehigh resident, were held Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Lehigh Baptist Church with Pastor Richard Magby officiating, assisted by Kelly Clark. Burial was in Lehigh Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coal-gate in charge of arrangements.

Clyde was born July 17, 1941 to Clyde and Lois Lorraine (Osborne) Paxton at Lehigh, OK and passed away September 12, 2018 at Coalgate at the age of 77 years, 1 month and 26 days. He attended Prairie Grove and Lehigh School and graduated from Coal-gate High School in 1955.

Clyde was a rancher and a heavy equipment operator. He married Wilma Rae Bonner on September 6, 1962 in Lehigh, OK. She preceded him in death on August 9, 2018. Clyde was a lifetime member of American Angus Association and the Lehigh Baptist Church. He enjoyed ranching, gardening and feeding his fish. His favorite saying was. . .”What happens in the feed lot stays in the feed lot.”

Survivors include his daughter, Alice Crowley and husband Paul of Atoka, OK; grandsons, Damon Eden and wife Lacy of Lehigh and Hunter Crowley of Atoka; great-grandchildren, London Eden and Jentry Eden, both of Lehigh; sisters, Ruthette Raines and husband Donald of Burleson, TX and Jean Collins and husband Burk of Colleyville, TX; brothers, Dean Paxton and wife Carolyn of Garland, TX and Jimmy Paxton and wife Bridget of Atoka, OK; uncle Willie Osborne of Ada, along with nieces, nephews and dearly loved friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and a sister, Carolyn Paxton.

Casketbearers were Damon Eden, Paul Crowley, Hunter Crowley, Jonnny Collins, Donnie Raines, and Chuck Loudermilk. Honorary bearers were Roger Hatridge, Harry Farris, Troy Metzmaker, Floyd Gibson, Mike Hensley, Burk Collins, Donald Raines and Bobby Horn.
