Service Thursday for George David Stark

Funeral services for George David Stark, an Atoka, OK resident, will be held Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Atoka with Bro. Ralph Crow officiating. Burial will be in Green Meadows Cemetery in Atoka with Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Stark was born November 23, 1949 to William George and Beatrice Modean (Shelton) Stark at Ft. Stockton, TX and passed away July 8, 2022 at Coalgate, OK at the age of 72 years, 7 months and 15 days.

He attended Atoka Public Schools and proudly served his country in the U. S. Army. George was selfemployed. He attended the Assembly of God Church. George loved playing football in high school, deer hunting and fishing. He worked in the oil field and in a feed store with Bud Pitts. Later in his life George was disabled.

Survivors include his son, Franklin Shatto and wife Julie of Atoka; daughter, Genea Shatto and fiance’ Vet Colbert of Atoka; grandchildren, Talysa Shatto of Tupelo, OK, Austin Johnson of Atoka, Paul Villareal of Coalgate and Ashley Edwards of Tishomingo, OK; siblings, Richard Green of Atoka, Norma (Stark) Hogan and husband Dale of Lane, OK, Wanda (Stark) Logue and husband James G., Freddie Stark and special friend Peggy, Louis “Pete” Stark and wife Drenda, Debbie (Stark) Powell and husband Robert, Tommy Stark, all of Atoka, Rita (Stark) McGarrah and husband Denver of Springdale, AR, Billy Stark, and George Stark, both of Roswell, NW; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many loved friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Beatrice Modean (Shelton) Stark; mother of his children, Patricia Shatto; sister, Ruby Green and special cousin, Billy Joe Hutson.

Casketbearers will be James Logue, Franklin Shatto, Austin Johnson, James Lowe, Gary Casey, Robert Powell, Jr., Bryce Lopez, and Robert Powell, Sr.
