Service today for Phoenix “Buddy” Taylor III

Funeral services for Phoenix “Buddy” Oscar Taylor III, a Lehigh resident, were held Wednesday (today), April 17, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Bro. Richard Magby officiating. Burial was in Lehigh Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Taylor was born January 16, 1962 to Phoenix and Roberta (Cornelious) Taylor at Blanding, UT and passed away April 14, 2019 at Coalgate at the age of 57 years, 2 months and 29 days. He attended Atoka and Coalgate schools and was a construction worker and a farmer. Buddy enjoyed fishing, hunting and carpentry.

Survivors include his fiance, Rita Pittman of Lehigh, OK; sons, Phoenix Oscar Taylor IV of Lehigh,and Joseph Holstein of Atoka, OK; siblings, Peggy Lou Maxey of Broken Arrow, OK, Jerry Leon Hansell and wife Susie of Anchorage, AK, Rita Lucito and husband Michael of Kansas City, MO, Roy Dale Hansell and wife Beth of South Carolina, Wanda Gene and Mark Estus of Silo, OK, Beatrice Taylor of New Orleans, LA, Donna Dee Stiles of Huntington Beach, CA and April Has-sing and husband Christian of Singapore.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Merrily Chaffin, and brother, Ronald J. Han-sell.

Casketbearers were Scott Moore, Jimmy Maxey, Bobby Burrough, Joe Maxey, Danny English, Cora Hawthorne and Kerry Moore.
