Wanda Faye Harper

Wanda Faye (Smith) Harper, an Atoka, OK resident, passed away November 25, 2022 at Coalgate at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 6 days. She was born August 19, 1943 to Omar G. Smith and Nella Mae (Moon) Smith at Sherman, TX. Wanda attended school and was a cook at all of the local restaurants at one time and worked in nursing homes. She married Walter Lee Bayles in 1982. She then married Junior Harper and he preceded her in 1995. Wanda was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and playing dominoes.

Survivors include her children, Mary Ann Beratto, Mary Joyce Bayles, both of Atoka, Jim Bayles, Cecil Bayles, Omar Bayles, all of Coalgate; siblings, Michael Smith of Atoka, Helen Perry and husband Jim of Madill, OK, and Buddy Smith and wife Margie of Birthwright, TX; along with numerous grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and other dear and loved friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Omar G. Smith and Nella Mae (Moon) Smith; husbands, Junior Harper and Walter Lee Bayles; son, Henry Bayles; siblings, Diane Perry, Jimmy Smith, Pam Key, Brenda Yarbrough, Loyd Ray Smith and Vera Inez Smith.
