Funeral services for Charles Gene Spears, a Coalgate resident, will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Johnny D. Ward officiating assisted by Don Stanberry. Interment will be in Coalgate Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements. Family night will be Friday evening 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

He passed away March 7, 2023 at the age of 81 years. Lee was the youngest of three sons born to the Gibsons. He was raised in Phillips, south of Coalgate and graduated from Coalgate High School. He attended and graduated from East Central University in Ada with honors. Lee spent 23 years in the U. S. Army, serving as an officer. He was always willing and ready to help anyone. Lee was liked by everyone who knew him.
