Glenndean “Dee” Ennis

Funeral services for Glenndean “Dee” Ennis, a McAlester, OK resident, were held Friday, March 8, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Atoka with Bro. Larry Begley and Bro. Bobby Deshazer officiating. Burial was in New Zion Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ennis was born October 12, 1948 to Arthur Baxter and Josie Ozella (Armbrister) Ogle at Coalgate, OK and passed away March 5, 2019 at McAlester, OK at the age of 70 years, 4 months and 21 days. She attended Blackjack School, graduated from Atoka High School and completed some college. Dee was a CNA and worked as a caretaker. She married David Ennis September 9, 2009 at Tushka, OK. Dee was of the Baptist faith and loved God and enjoyed cooking.

Survivors include David Ennis of the home; daughters, Dawn Barcus of Atoka, Christi Burham of McAlester and Robin Dale and husband Brian of Allen, TX; sons, Aaron Whitmire and wife April of Sherman, TX and Matthew Whitmire of Atoka; brother, James Ogle and wife Elaine of Oklahoma City; sisters, Merle Henderson of Atoka and Betty English of Oklahoma City; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Lucile Watkins, Myrtle Walkup, Gladys Coffee, Ola Faye Cook and Erma Lange; brothers, Melvin Ogle, Claude Ogle, Clyde Ogle, and Lewis Ogle; and son-in-law, William Burham.

Casketbearers were Randy Henderson, Gary Coffee, Vanoy Shields, Tyrell Hill, JJ Carney and Joey Garside. Honorary bearers were Katrena Barcus, Lance Barcus, Brett Barcus, Stormy Whitmire, Matthew Whitmire, Kaleb Whitmire, Jennie Whitmire, Nolan Dale, Ella Dale, Ross Whitmire, and Jackson Garside.
