Funeral services for Stephan Gregory Ginden, a longtime Atoka resident, were held Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Atoka with Bro. Joey Lansdale officiating. Burial was in Lehigh Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ginden was born July 31, 1957 toAbraham and Hazel Yavon (Muncy) Ginden at Chicago, IL and passed away August 24, 2025 at Durant at the age of 68 years and 24 days. He attended Hibbard Elementary School and graduated from VonStueben High School in Chicago, IL with the class of 1975. He attended Automobile mechanics school for 2 years. Stephan was a mechanic and a karaoke specialist. He married Teresa (Brown) July 29, 1983 at Coalgate and they were married for 41 years before Teresa’s passing on May 23, 2025, which was devastating for Steve, but he had Robert to care for him. The next three months were filled with pizza parties, movies, road trips and of course lots of heavy rock music. Stephan attended Jesus Name Church in Coalgate and enjoyed time with his family, rocking to music nonstop, going to concerts and caring for his fur babies.

Survivors include his son, Robert Ginden and girlfriend Latosha Safe of Atoka; grandchildren, Claysen, Chaini and Benjamin; brothers, Dave Ginden and Lucy of Coalgate, Randy Ginden and wife Betty of Skokie, IL; sister, Ellen Ginden of Conroe, TX; niece, Jennifer Ginden and fiance’ Jon Calder of Chicago, IL; nephews, Christopher Ginden and wife Jamie and children, Jackson and Henry of Anna, TX, Allan Ginden and wife Heather of Chicago, IL; along with other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Abraham and Hazel Yavon (Muncy) Ginden; wife, Teresa Ginden and brother, Bobby Ginden.

Casketbearers were Randy Ginden, Allan Ginden, Christopher Ginden, Kyler Heck, Robert Ginden and AJ Horn. Honorary bearers were Mike Hensley, Larry Hensley, Justin McKinney, Danny West, Dennis Chastain, Mike Jones, Claysen Ginden and David Ginden.
