Funeral services for Charlene Ann Mitchell, a Ratcliff City, OK resident, were held Sunday, February 22, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Atoka with Bro. Jerry Richard officiating. Burial was in Stringtown Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Atoka in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mitchell was born December 22, 1976 to Charley Joseph and Mary Elizabeth (German) East at Atoka, OK and passed away February 17, 2026 at her home in Ratcliff City at the age of 49 years, 1 month and 26 days, surrounded by her loved ones.

She attended Dunbar Headstart, graduated from Atoka High School where she was a drum major in the high school band, and helped in the colorguard, later she went on to attend Murray State College for a degree in Medical Coding. Charlene was a housewife and homemaker and worked for Chickasaw Nation and Coalgate Hospital.

She married Sidney Allen Mitchell on December 22, 1994 at Caney, OK. They celebrated over 31 years of marriage before her passing. Charlene enjoyed crocheting, fishing, loved her fur babies and grand babies, gardening and hunting. She always had her cleaning days and would clean it spotless. Charlene was a music lover, all kinds of music, enjoyed OU Softball, OU Band and OU Football. She was a big fan of her grandkids t-ball team and coached in coach pitch, and attended all her kids football games at Fox High School and the team made her home, their home. Charlene also enjoyed cooking, baking and baked the best pies, you could tell they were good just by the smell.

Survivors include her husband, Sidney Allen Mitchell of the home in Ratcliff City, OK; children, Jerry Mitchell and wife Lara of Dickson, OK, Jessica Mitchell and Allen Hunt of Clemscott, OK, Joseph Mitchell of the home in Ratcliff City, OK; granddaughters, Brenlynn Mitchell, and Serenity Mitchell; sister, Liz Sherrard and husband Chris of Atoka; twin sister, Charlotte Mackey and husband Truck of Atoka; mother, Mary Elizabeth East of Atoka; brother, Ron Releford and wife Tina of Stringtown; brother-in-law, Jerry Lee Mitchell of Comanche, OK; sister-in-law, Cindy Hicks and husband Michael of Wewoka, OK; mother-in-law, Billye Mitchell of Comanche, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.

She was preceded in death by his father, Charley Joseph East; father-in-law, Jerry Dean Mitchell; great-niece, Reinee Logue; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and her grandparents.

Casketbearers were Taylor Townsend, Preston Townsend, Miles Townsend, William Mosley, R. J. Releford, Ron Releford, and Maverick Wilkerson. Honorary bearers were Dakota Sherrard, Tanner Sefcik, Nick East-Loudermilk, Eriq East, Joseph Mitchell, and Jerry Dßean Mitchell II.
