Funeral services for Clyde Leroy Weeden, a Wardville, OK resident, were held Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Pastor Jason McEntire officiating. Burial was in Wardville Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Weeden was born on July 16, 1953, to Lee Roy and Faye Evelyn (Cornell) Weeden, at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He passed away on April 10, 2026, at his home in Wardville, Oklahoma, surrounded by loved ones. Clyde was 72 years, 8 months and 25 days old. He attended Choctaw and Coalgate Schools, graduating from Coalgate High School with the Class of 1963. Clyde obtained his HVAC certification and attending numerous horse training schools where his love for horses grew. He was a rancher and was happiest when training horses. Clyde was good at horse training and was often called “The Horse Whisperer”. He married Carlin Gwin Batts on November 7, 1993, at the Cottonwood Baptist Church where they were members. Clyde and Carlin were blessed with 32 years together.

Survivors include his wife, Carlin Gwin Weeden of the home in Wardville; daughter, Susan Mitchell and husband Wesley Keith of Konawa, OK; grandchildren, Pete Stokes and Ariel Mitchell, both of Konawa; step children, Desteny Gaskamp of Wardville and Charles Gaskamp and wife Linda of Burton, TX; siblings, Harry Weeden and wife Donna of Banner, WY, Georgia Franks and husband Raymond of Choctaw, OK, Darryll Weeden and wife Sue of Fort Worth, TX, Clayton Weeden of McAlester, OK, Ronnie Weeden of Sparks, OK and Gary Weeden and wife Cheryl of Coalgate, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many dearly loved friends, He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Roy and Faye Evelyn (Cornell) Weeden; grandson, Tristan Weeden and sister, Waunita Hocker.

Casketbearers were Tony Taylor, Brad Jackson, Jim Christman, Jim Smith, Jeff Newberry and Cody Newberry. Randy Ward served as honorary casketbearer.
