Graveside services for Emma Jean Nanney, a Coalgate resident, will be held Sunday, August 30, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Riley Cemetery in Olney with Bro. Eddie Hogue officiating. Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Nanney was born on September 20, 1944, to Uel Nelson and Annis Irene (Roebuck) Hampton, at Coalgate, OK. Emma passed away on August 21, 2026 at her home in Coalgate, OK at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 1 day. She graduated from Olney High School with the Class of ‘61. Emma was a seamstress at Wrangler/Blue Bell, worked at Mary Hurley Hospital, and for Choctaw Nation. She married Johnny Dale Vick on May 1, 1962 and spent 38 years together before his passing on October 14, 2000. Emma later married Jerry Paul Nanney on October 21, 2004 at the Coalgate Masonic Lodge, they have been blessed with almost 22 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Cottonwood Baptist Church. Emma enjoyed volunteering at the Ruth Wilson Hurley Manor. She loved to sing and play her guitar. Emma wrote a song titled, “One More Time” that she recorded on her CD. She liked going to concerts, gardening, especially tending to the manor flowers, and going fishing. Emma will be missed by all her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Paul Nanney of the home; children, Ina Warren of Olney, John M. Vick of Coalgate, Joel Vick of Olney and Laura Coplen and husband Basil of Cottonwood; grandchildren, John Bicknell of Tampa, FL, Raymond Warren and fiance` Jade Cosgrove of Olney, Jeremiah Coplen, Johnny Coplen and Emma Coplen all of Cottonwood; siblings, Albert Hampton of McCloud, Eddie Hampton and wife Mattie of Coalgate, Janey Ybarra and husband Manuel of Olney, Marvin Hampton and wife Julie of Coalgate, Kathy Yount and husband Darrell, and Johnny Mac Hampton and wife Diane of Olney; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dearly loved friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Johnny Dale Vick; parents, Uel Nelson and Annis Irene (Roebuck) Hampton; sister, Clover Riley and husband Alfred and sister-in-law, Louise Hampton.

Casketbearers will be Marvin Hampton,JohnnyMacHampton, Eddie Hampton, Albert Hampton and Basil Coplen. Serving as honorary bearers will be Raymond Warren, Jeremiah Coplen, Johnny Coplen and Emma Coplen.
