Funeral services for Emma Nadine Mowdy, a Coalgate resident, were held Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Mr. Mitchell Davidson officiating. Burial was in Coalgate Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mowdy was born on March 27, 1946, to Woodrow Wilson and Wanda Jean (Davidson) Gwinn, at Clarita, OK and passed away on April 21, 2026 at Durant, OK at the age of 80 years and 25 days. She attended Olney High School. Nadine was a homemaker and did volunteer work with hospice. She married Jesse Alvin Mowdy on January 23, 1962 at Coalgate, they spent 53 wonderful years together before his passing in 2015. Nadine was a faithful member of the Apostolic Jesus Name Church, serving as the treasurer, secretary, and song leader, she also kept the church immaculately clean. Nadine paid special attention to every detail. She enjoyed shopping, fishing, and spending time with friends and family. She was known as the Gospel Karaoke Queen.

Survivors include her sons, Rick Mowdy and wife Teena of Mustang, OK and Jeff Mowdy and wife Patty of Keller, TX; grandchildren, Tisha Smith and husband Devin of McCloud, OK, Ryan Mowdy and wife Janell of Haslet, TX, Ashton Mowdy and wife Brooke of Washington, OK, Dakota Mowdy and wife Courtney of Keller, TX, Colton Mowdy of Mustang, OK, Rylee Burnett and husband Cody of Watauga, TX and Alexi Mowdy of Keller, TX;sixteen greatgrandchildren; brothers, Rodger Gwinn and wife Teena of Bentley, OK, Kenneth Gwinn and wife Diane of Durant, OK and Dave Gwinn of Olney, OK; aunt, Leota Nichols of Moore, OK; along with many dearly loved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Alvin Mowdy; parents, Woodrow Wilson and Wanda Jean (Davidson) Gwinn; sister Lou Vick and husband Reece Carl; brother, James Gwinn and wife Norma Jean; nephew Tony Gwinn and sisterin-law, Kay Gwinn.

Casketbearers were Ashton Mowdy, Ryan Mowdy, Dakota Mowdy, Colton Mowdy, Rick Mowdy, and Jeff Mowdy. Kolby Mowdy served as honorary bearer.
