Funeral services for Gail Prestine (Jones) Harjo, a McLoud resident, were held Friday, April 17, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Brown’s Funeral Chapel in Coalgate with Bro. Eddie Hogue officiating. Burial was in Centrahoma Cemetery with Brown’s Funeral Service of Coalgate in charge of arrangements.

Gail was born on May 7, 1948, to Juel E. and Willie Jo (Stockton) Jones, at Coalgate, Oklahoma. She passed away on April 14, 2026 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 77 years, 11 months and 7 days. Gail graduated from Coalgate High School with the Class of ’66. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years. Gail married Darby Dean Harjo on October 30, 1992, at Grayson County, Texas. She was of the Baptist faith. Gail enjoyed tending to her chickens, her garden and her flowers. Her favorite times were spent with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Darby Dean Harjo of the home in McLoud, OK; sons, Thomas Fritz of Cottonwood and Johnny Fritz of McLoud; grandchildren, Kristin Spears and husband DK, Thomas W. Fritz, all of Cottonwood, John Fritz and wife Sarah of Tulsa, Cheyenne Fritz, Autumn Fritz, both of Coalgate, Jennika Fritz of Cottonwood, and Millie Fritz of McLoud; greatgrandchildren, Posie Fritz of Cottonwood, Laken Hendrix of Coalgate, Ryfle Gold and fiance Camryn, Bredyn Gold and fiance Lara Hatcher, all of Cottonwood; sisters, Jewel Eddings and husband Bob of Coalgate and Thresa Niimi and husband Dennis of Norman, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juel E. and Willie Jo (Stockton) Jones; sisters, Sondra Lopes, Sue Sprouse, Beverly Wilson and Rebecca Washburn; brother, Butch Jones; daughter-in-law, Karen Fritz.

Casketbearers were Lanny Hedgecock, Kenny Taylor, Stacey Williams, Franklin Chick, Brad Bowman and Chris Bowman. Serving as honorary bearers were Tony Miller and Toby adcock.
